Usage Notes
方 (ほう) has multiple uses: 1) direction/area (北の方 'toward north'), 2) side/option in comparisons (こっちの方 'this one'), 3) method/way (やり方 'way of doing'), 4) polite/vague reference (お体の方 'your health'). When comparing, use の方が with より.
