I, me
My friend is very kind.
The most common first-person pronoun in modern Japanese, used by both men and women. More formal than 俺 (ore) or 僕 (boku). The reading わたくし is more formal than わたし.

I plan to meet friends on the weekend.
Multiple uses: marks specific time (when), location of existence (where something is), target/recipient of action (to whom/what), or purpose. Context determines meaning.
還る

to return to (original state/place); to go back to
It is said that when humans die, they return to the earth.
Often used for returning to a spiritual or original state, or in formal/literary contexts. Distinct from '帰る' which is more common for returning home.

Refers to the mental faculty of retaining and recalling information, or the data stored in a computer.

Marks the direct object of a verb - what the action is done to. Written を but pronounced 'o'. Essential for transitive verbs. Also marks the space through which movement occurs.

Used for following a path, searching for something through clues, or retracing steps/memories.

A noun form of the adjective 'yasashii', referring to the quality of being kind or warm-hearted.

My opinion differs from my older brother's.
Connects nouns (A and B), indicates accompaniment (with someone), marks quotations, or shows comparison/contrast. Cannot connect sentences like English 'and'.
