제1조(설치와 임무) 국군장병의 체력향상을 위한 교리를 연구ㆍ발전시키고, 체육특기자를 발굴ㆍ육성함으로써 군전력강화에 이바지하기 위하여 국방부장관소속하에 국군체육부대(이하 "체육부대"라 한다)를 둔다.

제2조(부대장과 부부대장)

①체육부대에 부대장과 부부대장을 둔다.

②부대장은 2급 이상 군무원으로, 부부대장은 영관급장교로 보한다. <개정 2017.9.5, 2019.10.15>

③부대장은 국방부장관의 명을 받아 부대업무를 통할하고, 소속부대원을 지휘ㆍ감독한다.

④부부대장은 부대장을 보좌하며, 부대장이 사고가 있는 때에는 그 직무를 대행한다.

제3조(부서와 운동선수단의 설치)

①체육부대의 업무를 처리하기 위하여 필요한 부서를 두되, 그 설치와 사무분장에 관한 사항은 국방부장관이 정한다.

②체육부대에 국군대표운동선수단을 두되, 그 설치ㆍ구성ㆍ선수선발 및 운동경기등에 관한 사항은 국방부장관이 정한다.

제4조(정원) 체육부대에 군인과 군무원을 두되, 그 정원은 국방부장관이 정한다.

부칙 <제11288호,1983.12.29> 이 영은 공포한 날로부터 시행한다.
