제1조(목적) 이 영은 「국가경찰과 자치경찰의 조직 및 운영에 관한 법률」 제27조제2항에 따라 시ㆍ도자치경찰위원회의 사무기구에 두는 경찰공무원의 정원에 관한 사항을 규정함을 목적으로 한다.

제2조(정원)

① 「국가경찰과 자치경찰의 조직 및 운영에 관한 법률」 제27조제2항에 따라 시ㆍ도자치경찰위원회의 사무기구에 두는 경찰공무원의 총정원은 별표와 같다. <개정 2023.2.14>

② 시ㆍ도자치경찰위원회의 사무기구에 두는 경찰공무원의 시ㆍ도자치경찰위원회별 정원과 계급별 정원은 제1항에 따른 총정원의 범위에서 행정안전부령으로 정한다.

③ 제1항에 따른 총정원은 경찰청장의 의견을 들어 배정해야 한다.

제3조(정원의 배정 등) 제2조에 따른 정원의 배정 기준 및 운영 등에 필요한 사항은 행정안전부령으로 정한다.

부칙 <제31347호,2020.12.31> 이 영은 2021년 1월 1일부터 시행한다.

부칙 <제31731호,2021.6.8> 이 영은 2021년 7월 1일부터 시행한다.

부칙 <제33247호,2023.2.14> 이 영은 2023년 2월 16일부터 시행한다.
